<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation method of a fuel cell prevented from sudden expansion of a polymer electrolyte film at aging. <P>SOLUTION: On a first process from a time t<SB>10</SB>of starting the aging of the fuel cell to a time t<SB>17</SB>when the current value of output current Ifc of the fuel cell per unit time reaches an upper-limit current value, the current value of Ifc per unit time is gradually increased by repeating a process of increasing and decreasing the Ifc between a first current value (0A/cm<SP>2</SP>) and a second current value (an initial value of 0.1A/cm<SP>2</SP>) for three times while increasing the second current value by 0.1A/cm<SP>2</SP>at every increase of the current. Further, at a second process after t<SB>17</SB>, the Ifc per unit time is kept in the upper-limit current value while increasing and decreasing the Ifc between a third current value (1.0A/cm<SP>2</SP>) and a fourth current value (0A/cm<SP>2</SP>). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
