<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide systems, tools, methods and recordable media for providing a visual grammar to be associated with a local format for creating interactive biological diagrams. <P>SOLUTION: Stencils (160) are employed to represent higher level representations of associated entities (130, 167, 169, 170) to interactions (137, 138, 139, 156, 157) and descriptively and unambiguously displayed.
