PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a UHF broadband antenna which reduces costs, is miniaturized, improves performance, and prevents deterioration of directivity, in simple configuration. SOLUTION: Dipole elements 11a, 11b consisting of approximately rectangular metal plates are disposed in the shape of plate at a predetermined interval D and its center is held by a holding substrate 12. For example, a full length L of the dipole elements 11a, 11b is set to about 0.35λa, a height H is set to about 0.1λa, thickness is set to about 0.0015λa, and the interval D is set to about 0.008λa. A power feeding point 13 is then provided at a lower end of the holding substrate 12 to feed power to the dipole elements 11a, 11b. Thus, even if the length L of the dipole elements 11a, 11b is set to a value shorter than a half wavelength, the dipole elements 11a, 11b have the predetermined height H, thereby presenting an effect similar to a two-wire type dipole and realizing excellent VSWR characteristics while attaining miniaturization.
