PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester resin foam containing a polyester copolymer as a base resin and having an excellent biodegradability and hydrolysis resistance, and at the same time, excellent mechanical properties such as compression and tension. SOLUTION: This polyester resin foam comprises a base resin containing 50 wt.% or more of the polyester copolymer containing terephthalic acid component units, and adipic acid component units and/or succinic acid component units as main dicarboxylic acid component units, and having a melting point of 90 to 150°C, and has an apparent density of 0.03 to 0.25 g/cm<SP>3</SP>, an average foam diameter of 0.2 to 5 mm, and an area of a vertical cross section in an extrusion direction of 5 cm<SP>2</SP>or more.
