PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift lever device for a vehicle capable of preventing a control lever from moving up to a position where the control lever can not be engaged with the shift lever, even if the control lever is not fixed. SOLUTION: This shift lever device 10 has a first shift passage, a second shift passage, the shift lever 20 movable within a connecting passage, a control lever operating part 30 moving together with the shift lever 20, the control lever 40, two opposed walls 50 provided with a prescribed distance in a shift direction on either the control lever operating part 30 or the control lever 40, and an engaging part 60 which is provided on the other of the control lever operating part 30 and the control lever 40, enters between the two opposed walls 50 without a gap in the shift direction when the shift lever 20 is in the first shift passage, and enters between the two opposed walls 50 with a gap in the shift direction when the shift lever 30 is in the second shift passage.
