PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner capable of surely removing dust sticking to a filter from the bottom opening of a dust collection case, interlocked with the opening movement of a bottom cover, while maintaining the filter dust removing capability with a brush. SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner is provided with a removable dust collection device 30 which includes a dust collection case 31 with the bottom open, a bottom cover 35 which is turned to open or close the bottom opening, a filter 41 disposed within the collection case 31, and a cleaner 51 which removes dust off the filter 41, cooperated with the opening movement of the bottom lid 35. The cleaner 51 has a brush support 52 whose lower end is turnably connected with the bottom cover 35, and a brush 53 which is attached to the brush support 52, makes sliding contact with the filter 41 following the opening or closing movement of the bottom cover 35, and made to be disposed below the bottom opening when the bottom cover 35 is fully opened.
