Intervertebral implant with a rectangular cross-section comprises profiled supporting surfaces (10) for adjacent vertebrae and a vertical cavity (1) for receiving bone material delimited by two opposite side walls (4), a dorsal wall (2) and a ventral wall (3). The supporting surfaces are parallel or dorsally conical to each other and the dorsal and ventral walls are of different thickness or the dorsal wall is thicker and the ventral wall is of equal thickness to the side walls.
