Scaffold board (15) comprises a covering plate (16) made from plywood forming a working surface (17) and extending over the whole length and breadth of the scaffold board, a base plate (20) formed on the side of the scaffold board facing away from the working surface, longitudinal strips arranged between the covering plate and the base plate, hollow chambers formed between the covering plate, base plate and longitudinal strips and hanging devices (25) arranged in the region of the longitudinal ends of the scaffold board. Preferred Features: The base plate is made from a light metal sheet, preferably aluminum or aluminum alloy. The base plate has a wall thickness which is less than half the wall thickness of the covering plate.
