There is described use of therapeutically effective amount of consensus human leukocyte interferon for the manufacture of a medicament for treatment of a disorder treatable with an interferon in a patient, in which one or more side effects generally associated with alpha interferon administration is reduced whereby the disorder is hepatitis A, hepatitis B, hepatitis D or hepatitis delta.
