Reformer and process for the conversion of a fuel and an oxidant into a reformate

A reformer comprises a reaction zone (22) and additional reaction zone(s) (24) for receiving fuel (12, 14) and oxidizer (16, 18). Each reaction zone is adapted to react fuel and oxidizer into reformate (20). An independent claim is also included for a process of reacting fuel and oxidizer into reformate in a reformer, by supplying fuel and/or oxidizer to reaction zones in a separately adjustable manner for adjusting reformer output.
