Stabilizer compositions comprise (a) a polyester of 3:31-thiodipropionic acid or 4:41-thiodibutyric acid, a glycol and possibly a monohydric alcohol or a monocarboxylic acid as disclosed in Specification 1,090,264, and (b) a phenolic ultra-violet light stabilizer. The stabilizer (b) preferably has the formula <FORM:1090265/C3/1> where R12 and R13 are hydrogen atoms or C1- 24 alkyl, alkyloxy or acyloxy radicals and v, w, x and z are 0, 1 or 2 or the formula <FORM:1090265/C3/2> where R14, R15 and R16 are hydrogen atoms or C1- 24 alkyl or aryl radicals. The stabilizer compositions may also contain phenolic antioxidants which in addition to their phenolic hydroxy groups may contain salicylate or other ester groups, carboxy groups, alkyl carbonyl groups, alkoxy groups, secondary or tertiary amino groups, amido groups or sulphide or ether linkages. The compositions may be used to stabilize fats, fatty oils, hydrocarbons, natural resins, cellulose esters, rubbers, polyesters, polycarbonates, polyurethanes, polyamides and olefin polymers or copolymers. The latter are preferably (i) polymers of one or more C2- 22 olefins or mixtures thereof with isoprene, butadiene, styrene or acrylates, or (ii) admixtures of polyolefins and polyamides, polyesters or synthetic rubbers.
