The automobile (1) has an i.c. engine (2) for providing the propulsion drive and a fuel cell system (5) with an electrically-heated autothermic reformation reactor (6), followed by a shift-reactor (10), for providing the electrical energy for the automobile electrical auxiliaries. During the cold-starting phase a controlled valve (12) at the output of the shift-reactor supplies the provided gas to the engine for reducing the exhaust emission levels, the valve closed when the required operating temperature is reached, for supplying the gas to the fuel cell (15), the anode gas combined with the fuel fed to the engine.. |
