A production method for an electric double-layer capacitor comprising the steps of, when synthesizing an electrolyte, assuming a model in which a solute is dissolved in a solvent, predicting a withstand voltage by simulation, selectively synthesizing an electrolyte only having a withstand voltage predicted to exceed a target value, and adjusting the surface areas of an anode and a cathode so as to effectively utilize the withstand voltage of this electrolyte, whereby it is possible to significantly reduce a developing time in an electrolyte development and efficiently develop a high-withstand-voltage electric double-layer capacitor.
