The device has an outer shell moving into a casing, to push a shoving unit in proximity to a resilient unit, because an end of the shell is held in a specified position on a bicycle frame with respect to the device. A brake cable is moved to cause a reverse movement of the shell due to tension. The movements of shell and cable compress the resilient unit on the cable, and exert a dampening effect on a rotating arm (34) of a disc brake.
