The mother circuit board of a computer system has various electronic circuit components including the heat generating CPU chip. Mounted directly onto the board is a carrier [1] for cooling elements. A heat sink module [3] is in direct contact with the CPU that projects through an aperture. A cooling fan [2] circulates cool air over the board. The carrier also has formed cooling fins [11].
