A cost effective method for producing components, e.g. stator formers for electric motors, has flat profiles stamped out of a sheet material feed (13), with the number of sets of profiles equal to the number of laminations bonded to form the components. The stamped and separated profiles are aligned and bonded in a single press operation (17) with the completed items loaded onto an exit conveyor (17).
