The signal is received by an antenna (1) that may be in contact with a transmitter via a slip ring. The output is received by a signal processor (2) that has a controlled transfer function. The processor has a phase locked loop to synchronise with the data. Also included can be a unit for measuring various system parameters, such as temperature and relative motion between transmitter and receiver. The output is provided in digital form (3).
