A new method of teaching is disclosed, using a wide variety of mnemonics to aid the recall of sounds represented by letters and syllables. Vowels and consonants sounded alone have different prompts from those used for consonants sounded together with a vowel following consonant. The student learns the meaning of the mnemonics, then learns to apply those sounds represented by mnemomics in souding out words and syllables from an argumented presentation of the words with mnemonics. Once the student learns how to speak the word from the augmented text, a simplified augmentation is used in combination with the word in alphabet script. Once this conbination is learned, the student can read alphabet script alone by recalling the mnemonics that provide the phonological structure of the word. |
