Disclosed is a method for synthesizing an organosilicon compound represented by the general formula (1) below. The method is characterized by polymerizing an allyl-(4-alkynyl-phenyl) silane represented by the general formula (3) below in a methylene chloride, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride or 1,2-dichloroethane solvent in the presence of a hafnium tetrachloride. (In the above general formulae, R represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1-6 carbon atoms or a phenyl group; R's may be the same or different and respectively represent an alkyl group having 1-2 carbon atoms or a phenyl group; and n is a number from 4 to 2,500.)
