摘要 An ink ribbon winding mechanism comprises a planetary gear mechanism consisting of a sun gear rotating forwardly and backwardly according to the movement of a carrier, a holder rotatably installed in the sun gear and having a pressing section for pressing the sun gear, a first planetary gear installed in the holder and meshing with the sun gear, and a second planetary gear installed in the holder and meshing with the sun gear, a winding means (winding gear, intermediate gear) with which either the first planetary gear or the second planetary gear of the planetary gear mechanism meshes and which is driven in the ink ribbon winding direction, and a holder lock means for fixing the holder at a neutral position where the first and second planetary gears do not mesh with the winding means. Thus, during the non- printing movement of the carrier, the holder can be fixed at the neutral position where the first and second planetary gears do not mesh with the winding means, by the holder lock means, so that even if the ink ribbon cassette is of the ink replenishing type in which ink ribbon winding is not effected, over-replenishment of ink to the ink ribbon does not occur, ensuring that the print density is constant.
