[PROBLEMS] To enable a user of an electronic device to effectively select and execute a desired function. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A problem solution support device supports problem solution according to an input from a user when the user uses an electronic device. The problem solution support device includes: an association storage unit for correlating with an entry word identifying a function owned by the electronic device for solving the problem and storing a plurality of icons as images having external views correlated conceptually to at least a part of the entry word; a candidate icon display unit for displaying on the same screen at least a part of icons serving as candidate for receiving selection from outside; and an entry word extraction unit used when two or more icons are selected from the icons displayed on the same screen by the candidate icon display unit, for referencing the association storage unit according to the combination of the two or more icons, extracting an entry word, and displaying the extracted entry word. The candidate icon display unit divides the icons at least into two groups and displays them separately.
