Even when a program to be edited is stored in a plurality recording media of the data processing devices, it is possible to reproduce and edit the program without performing a complicated operation. The data processing device can transmit and receive data to/from a device connected to a network. The device can be uniquely identified in the network by unique device information. The data processing device includes: a processing unit for generating identification information for uniquely identifying content data and each content and storing them in the recording medium; a network control unit for establishing a connection with the network and transmitting the device information and the identification information in response to a request from the device; a processing unit used when at least one content is specified by the device as a reproduction object from the one or more contents, for generating a management table for correlating at least one content identification information with device information on the device; and a storage unit for storing the management unit.
