The invention relates to a rotor wherein there are at least three blades ( 1 ) disposed between a front cover plate ( 5 ) and a rear cover plate ( 6 ), the arc ( 2 ) of the suction edge of at least one blade ( 1 ), in the top view of the inlet side ( 3 ) of the pumping medium, following a sinusoidal path with a single turning point W. The subject of the invention additionally comprises the use of the rotor in a centrifugal pump to pump coolant in a motor vehicle.
