The invention relates to a water filter system comprising a water conduit and a filter (30), which is interconnected between sections of the water conduit and comprises a filter surface that is located in the interior of the filter for filtering water. One conduit section (6) forms a supply conduit to the filter (30) for the water to be purified and one conduit section (7) forms a drain conduit for the filtered water. The aim of the invention is to obtain a decontamination of the filter and the filter fabric in industrial water filter systems, such as cooling systems and in sea water filter systems, such as e.g. ballast water filter systems, without the need for complex equipment and using procedural technology that be easily controlled. To achieve this, according to the invention, the inlet and the outlet of the filter (30) can be blocked in relation to the water conduit by means of blocking devices (9, 10) and the interior of the filter (35) can be heated by means of a heating device (60) to a target temperature in excess of 50 DEG C, once the blocking devices (9, 10) have been activated, in order to decontaminate the filter. |
