Permanent finishing of keratin fibers with a care agent (I) comprises treating them with: (a) at least one carboxyester hydrolase (II) and (b) at least one (I) that is a substrate for (I). Independent claims are also included for: (1) composition for permanent finishing of keratin fibers containing at least one each of (I) and (II); and (2) two-part kit for permanent finishing of keratin fibers comprising (I) and (II) in separate compartments.
