Method to start a vehicle with an electronic lock and start system

Access to the vehicle is granted following bidirectional data exchange between the transceivers of user and vehicle. Starting follows a user key-insertion signal and testing for further conditions. Should this testing reveal an error, a reversionary mode of vehicle starting is entered, in which a key with integral identification unit is inserted into the ignition lock, and by user rotation of the key, the electrical ignition contact is closed and the vehicle is started.
