A chuck assembly includes a housing (100) formed with an hydraulic fluid inlet (102), a sleeve (20) mounted in the housing (100) and formed with an annular groove (23), a shaft (41) mounted rotatably in the sleeve (20) and formed with a first fluid passage (412), a chuck unit (50) mounted in the shaft (41), a piston (43) subdividing a chamber (402) between the chuck unit (50) and the shaft (41) into first and second compartments (4021, 4022), and an annular elastic sealing member (30) disposed in the annular groove (23) and formed with a second fluid passage (34) for passage of a hydraulic fluid from a supply through the hydraulic fluid inlet (102) and the first fluid passage (412) to the first compartment (4021). <IMAGE>
