Installation of an electrical submersible pump through a wellhead and subsequent removal of a wellhead wear bushing

A method of installing an electrical pump assembly 23 in a subsea well 11 before removing a wear bushing 19. The pump 23 is lowered on a string of tubing 21 until it at least passes through the wear bushing 19; the pump's power cable 27 is deployed alongside the tubing. A wear bushing retrieval tool 37 is connected to the tubing 21; the power cable 27 is inserted into a slot in the side of the retrieval tool (figure 3). The retrieval tool 37 is lowered to the wellhead 11 and engages the wear bushing 19 which can then be removed. A tubing hanger 43 is connected to the tubing and set in the wellhead 11.
