<p>The invention relates to the use of aminopurine antiviral agents for the treatment and prophylaxis of herpes virus infections. The antiviral agents having the formula A or the formula of a bioprecursor, the pharmaceutically acceptable salt, an ester of the phosphoric acid and/or an acyl derivative thereof are employed for manufacturing a medicament to be administered at least 18 hours after the infection, necessary in the prophylaxis or treatment of a latent herpes virus infection in humans.</p> |
