The invention concerns an instrument for periodontal therapy consisting of a blade (1) secured to a head (2) designed to be coupled to a handpiece so as to impart to said blade (1) a vibratory motion, said blade (1) having on one of its sides delimited by a plane passing through its axis an active part (1a) distributed along the blade (1). The invention is characterized in that said blade (1) is further provided with an irrigation channel (4) for a liquid arranged in its center, said channel (4) emerging at the center of the active part (1a) of said blade (1) over the major part of its length for cleaning the active part (1a) of the instrument during the procedure and eliminating detached particles.
