The invention relates to a new type of electrohydraulic numerical automatic speed regulator for controlling the speed of hydraulic turbines with one or two control devices. The electronic part of the regulator contains a numerical computation block with signal processor (DSP) programmable in a higher level language. The electrohydraulic part of the regulator is composed of typified equipments from the category of electrohydraulic direct multistage distributors with electrohydraulic servomechanism with local position reaction, included in the main speed loop. The simplified electrohydraulic lay-out of the regulator includes the following: a direct two stages electrohydraulic distributor, with internal position reactions (1) for controlling the rods position of the two servomechanisms of the controlling mechanism (2); a two stages hydraulically controlled direct distributor (3) for accidents; z manually controlled safety direct distributor (4); a direct electrohydraulic distributor (5) for controlling the rotor blades; the servomotor (6) of the rotor blades.
