The screw-threads of the metallic nozzle of a collapsible tube are coated with a paint or enamel, e.g. a vinyl enamel, or a lacquer, by spraying, rolling, brushing or dipping. The coating material may be an epoxide paint or enamel; or an alkyd or nitrocellulose paint. The body of the tube may be coated externally, e.g. with a white vinyl enamel or internally, e.g. with a lacquer. The tube may be of aluminium, tin, lead, tin-coated lead or a tin-lead alloy each of which may be alloyed with copper or antimony.
