A cross-feed screw shaft (87) for feeding a seedling-placement platform (16) in a transverse direction and a transmission shaft (96), in a drive case (61) for planting, for transmitting drive force to the screw shaft (87) are formed as separate bodies. The cross-feed screw shaft (87) and the transmission shaft (96) are connected and interlocked outside the drive case (61) for planting. In a rice-planting machine with the cross-feed screw shaft for feeding the seedling-placement platform in a transverse direction, the burden of dismantling the drive case (61) for planting each time when the cross- feed screw shaft (87) breaks down is removed, and only the screw shat (87) can be easily replaced. As a result, workability for maintenance and checking is improved.
