The present invention relates to a silicon-containing alumina support, a preparation thereof, and a catalyst comprising the alumina support. In the alumina support of the present invention, the cocatalyst silicon is enriched on the surface of the support, with the difference between the ratio of Si/Al in the surface phase of the alumina support and the average ratio of Si/Al is equal to or greater than 0.10. During the preparation of the silicon-containing alumina support according to the present invention, a silicon-containing material with nanometer size is added. The alumina support of the present invention can be used to make catalysts suitful for hydrotreatment of hydrocarbon with superior physicochemical property and service performance.
