The method involves measuring ocular aberration of right and left eyes, and calculating monocular performance criteria of the eyes using the measured value. A binocular visual performance criterion of a human or animal subject is calculated by adding the monocular performance criteria which are characteristic functions of imagery performance of respective eyes. An independent claim is also included for a device of implementing binocular visual performance criterion determining method.
