A sickle knife section (15) is adapted to be used with existing sickle guards (11) in connection with a harvester, mower or the like. The knife sections (15) have concave curved cutting edges or lines 26 on opposite sides of a central plane (36). The cutting edges (26) are shown as circular and lie along a line that moves away from the central plane of the knife section (51) from a leading end (28) of the knife section (15) to position where the concave cutting edges (26) intersect side edges (30) of the knife section (15).
