A cylindrical magnet suitably fitted to the inner peripheral surface of a metal cylinder used as a motor magnet and a method of manufacturing the cylindrical magnet wherein, a magnetic paint of a specified amount is supplied to the inner peripheral surface while the metal cylinder is being rotated about its axis, and a magnetic film is uniformly formed on the inner peripheral surface by utilizing the centrifugal force of the metal cylinder and the viscosity of the magnetic paint. In this state, the metal cylinder is being rotated continuously to promote the drying and solidification of the magnetic paint, and after the magnetic paint is solidified to a specified state, a resin in the magnetic paint is bridged.
