<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for rapidly detecting the presence or absence or amount of a polynucleotide or an oligonucleotide having a target base sequence in a specimen solution with good accuracy, especially a method for detecting SNP (single nucleotide polymorphism) or single nucleotide mutation. <P>SOLUTION: The method for detecting the polynucleotide or oligonucleotide comprises bringing the specimen solution containing the polynucleotide or oligonucleotide which is the object of detection into contact with each probe-immobilizing part of a micro fluid device having a porous layer where a probe is immobilized on the surface in each capillary-like channel, then washing the probe-immobilizing part, removing components of the specimen solution unbound to the probe and subsequently measuring the fluorescence intensity of the probe-immobilizing part. In the method, the transmittance of light at 670 nm wavelength in a site for measuring the fluorescence intensity of the porous layer where the probe is immobilized is 10-60% and the measurement of the fluorescence intensity is made at ≥650 nm wavelength. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
