<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brushless motor driver capable of surely detecting the abnormality of a current detection side on the upper arm side. <P>SOLUTION: The brushless motor driver comprises a first current detecting means which detects a current flowing a first switching element constituting the circuit of three-phase inverter that operates in a PWM system to drive a brushless motor, and a second current detecting means for detecting the current flowing a second switching element connected to the output of potential on the negative side of DC. It also comprises a control means which controls the current that flows the brushless motor on the basis of the first current value which is detected by the first current detecting means and the second current value which is detected by the second current detecting means, and controls the current flowing the brushless motor on the basis of the first current value if the second current value is determined to be impossible to detect, and an abnormality detecting means which detects abnormality of the first current detecting means on the basis of the first current value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
