PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scooter type motorcycle arranged so that the center of gravity of an engine is located in front, involving no risk to impair the riding feeling and the maneuverability. SOLUTION: The scooter type motorcycle has a head pipe 3 supporting a front fork 5 to support the front wheel 4 in such a way as capable of being steered to the left and right, and the body portion between the head pipe 3 and the driver seat 16 is bent downward approximately into U-shape so as to form a foot space 18 stretching in the width direction of the body, and further the arrangement includes a foot rest floor 19 formed on the left and right of the bottom part to allow the rider to put his feet and a tunnel-shaped part 20 provided in the central part of the foot rest floor 19 in such a way as extending to the front and rear and protruding upward, wherein a transmission device 39 is installed rigidly in the rear part, and to the body 1 the engine 7 is secured which has cylinders 22a and 22b arranged along a riser part 26 formed in front of the foot space 18, while an engine suction system apparatus 12 is installed in the space formed between the cylinders 22a and 22b and the head pipe 3.
