PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expansion device with a solenoid valve capable of suppressing self-excited vibration without raising costs. SOLUTION: An expansion valve is used as a stop valve closed by exciting a double purpose valve element 27 by a spring 32 when a solenoid 13 is not energized, and a first iron core 24 holding the double purpose valve element 27 is attracted to a second iron core 25 fixed to a second shaft 20, and displacement of a power element 12 is transmitted to the double purpose valve element 27 when the solenoid 13 is energized. The first and second iron cores 24 and 25 are composed such that they are guided moved by a sleeve 23, they are slid on an inner wall surface of the sleeve 23 by attraction working between a yoke 34 and a plate 35 during energization, and self-excited vibration of the expansion valve is suppressed by frictional resistance of the sliding. In adjustment of a degree of overheating of the expansion valve, a load of the spring 30 is adjusted by a pressed-in amount of an adjustment piece 31 into the sleeve 23, and the adjustment piece 31 is fixed to the sleeve 23 by caulking.
