PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a platen roller of which the outer circumference of a rubber member is coated with a flexible diamond-like carbon, and an intermediate transfer recorder using the same. SOLUTION: This intermediate transfer recorder S is equipped with the platen roller having a rotary shaft 2 with a predetermined length dimension and the cylindrical rubber member 3 covering the outer circumference of the rotary shaft 2 in a predetermined thickness. As a coating film having a good smoothness property and consisting of a flexible diamond-like carbon (F-DLC) is formed on the outer circumference 3a of the rubber member 3, it is possible to allow the intermediate transfer medium 9 to be surely slid on the outer circumference 3a of the platen roller 1 during the recording of a primary image 15.
