PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape cartridge which can positively prevent a printing tape slightly protruding from a tape delivery port from drawing into a cartridge case, and a tape printing device equipped with the tape cartridge. SOLUTION: The tape cartridge 6 has the wound printing tape 12 and the cartridge case 23 accommodating the printing tape 12 inside. In addition, the tape cartridge 6 has a reversal checking mechanism 27 provided at a delivery port formation edge part 44 of a peripheral wall 36 wherein a tape delivery port 26 is formed. This mechanism 27 permits the forward feed of the printing tape 12 and checks its reversal by slightly protruding the delivery end part 43 of the printing tape 12 from a slit-shaped tape delivery port 26 formed on the peripheral wall 36 of the cartridge case 23 and sliding into contact with the printing tape 12.
