PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for concentrating and separating solid components by which construction cost and operating cost can be reduced and solid components such as sludge produced in water purification can suitably be concentrated and separated. SOLUTION: Water component in the sludge produced in water purification is sucked via a flat membrane module 3. The sludge is stuck to the outside of the flat membrane module 3 to form a sludge cake layer C. The flat membrane module 3 is pulled up from a sludge treatment tank 2, is exposed to the air, is evacuated from the inside of the flat membrane module 3, and is dewatered. Next, air is blown on the outside of the flat membrane module 3 to peel the sludge cake layer C. The peeled and dropped concentrated sludge is conveyed by a belt conveyer 10, and is heaped in an exhaust tank 11. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
