<p>A reciprocating engine (1), comprising a piston (3) reciprocatingly moved in a cylinder (2), piston rings (5) and (6) fitted to the piston (3), a demarcating member (18) movable in the circumferential direction of the piston (3) so that an annular space (11) between the piston rings (5) and (6) can be demarcated in a semi-annular space (13) on a thrust side (12) and a semi-annular space (15) on an anti-thrust side (14) and stored in the recess (16) of the piston (3) so as to be closely moved to the inner surface (31) of the cylinder (2), and a communication means (21) allowing the semi-annular space (13) on the thrust side (12) to communicate with a gas combustion chamber (20).</p> |
