<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape drive capable of receiving tape cartridges and firmly pressing and holding them so as to prevent their up-and-down movements even when the tape cartridges different in case thickness are loaded. <P>SOLUTION: In a tape drive (D), a loading frame 28 for supporting tape cartridges (40A) and (40B) different in case thickness, and a holder 29 for pressing and holding the tape cartridges (40A) and (40B) are provided. On the side wall 31 of the loading frame 28, a pair of upper and lower sensors 34 and 35 are disposed to identify the sizes of the loaded tape cartridges. On the basis of the tape cartridge sizes detected by the sensors 34 and 35, the holder 29 is operated to be displaced to a height position suited to the loaded tape cartridges (40A) and (40B). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
