PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel capable of image display with high luminance and superior visibility, by providing a front plate with which the transmittance of visible light is enhanced. SOLUTION: In a plasma display panel, provided with the front plate in which display electrodes are formed on a transparent substrate and a dielectric glass layer is formed so as to cover the display electrodes, the glass composition of the dielectric glass layer contains titanium. The glass composition preferably contains 0.9-6.7 wt% of TiO<SB>2</SB>on the basis of the weight of an oxide, and further preferably contains 2.6-5.5 wt% of TiO<SB>2</SB>on the basis of the weight of oxide as reference.
