PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealant for a liquid crystal display element, which is most suitable for use as a sealant to be used in manufacture of the liquid crystal display element with a dropping method, and also to provide an above and below conducting material and the liquid crystal display element. SOLUTION: The sealant for the liquid crystal display element contains a curable resin with a tertiary amine structure. In the manufacture of the liquid crystal display element, even when a liquid drop of a liquid crystal is in contact with the sealant in an uncured state, contamination of the liquid crystal is not brought about by solution of a component of the sealant into the liquid crystal. Thereby the sealant for the liquid crystal display element which hardly produces a display defect such as color unevenness in the liquid crystal display is obtained. The above and below conducting material contains the sealant for the liquid crystal display element, and the liquid crystal display element is constructed by using the sealant for the liquid crystal display element.
