PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein a detection error of the relative rotation amount is generated when axes of both members do not agree each other, in a rotation sensor for detecting the relative rotation amount between the pair of members by detecting by a rotation amount measuring means an impedance change of an excitation coil generated by the change of a magnetic path resistance changing according to the mutual overlapping degree of magnetic path windows generated by the relative rotation between the pair of members. SOLUTION: When each one magnetic path window of both members is faced mutually, each other magnetic path window is arranged so as to be faced each other on the opposite side to the facing side. Hereby, even when the magnetic path resistance of one magnetic path window is changed from that at the normal time, this sensor is operated so as to cancel the magnetic path resistance error at the other magnetic path window, to thereby measure highly accurately.
