PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular impact absorbing member which shows a desired energy absorbing characteristic (suppression of an initial peak load on collision) at a time of collision in a small number of components. SOLUTION: A crush box 10 comprises upper and lower cylindrical parts 22, 24, which crush compressively along their axes upon frontal collision, and a bottom 28 consisting of a thin-walled part 28B and a thick-walled part 28A. The thin-walled part 28B is formed on a part where the walls of the upper and lower cylindrical parts 22, 24 come together, which prevents an impact load from acting directly on the part where the walls come together upon frontal collision.
